PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Tactical Network/Communications Specialist will act as a representative to Marine Corps System Command (MCSC) for the Tactical Networking (TACNET) Program Office. The TACNET Specialist will assist Marine Corps elements with software deployment, system interoperability, hardware analysis, and evaluation of future upgrades to new and existing MCSC systems, training and fielding support. The TACNET Specialist will further support MCSC representatives with logistics, equipment fielding, and warehouse management tasks when requested. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Specialist will: Rely on personal technical knowledge, operational expertise, and proven experience to provide technical support to TACNET systems Have specialized knowledge of the operation, technical processes and maintenance requirements of TACNET systems, networks, and advanced operational techniques to ensure effective exploitation of system capabilities Provide system network assistance to identified TACNET system configurations, site integration, site installation, and operations and maintenance of Local Area Networks / Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) Provide system administration support that focuses on system readiness Provide system operation support to include being the primary system operator and assisting in operational setup or resolution of issues as they arise Assist in the provision of over-the-shoulder, Remedial, New Equipment, unit sustainment, system network, system administration or system operation training as require Participate in Integrated Product Teams, working groups, configuration control boards and/or engineering review groups Provide direct support such as integration of software/hardware, burn-in testing, quality assurance and technical support to operational forces deploying to active theaters Conduct emerging assessments based on research, technical interchanges and other sources Provide recommendations on the training and integration of new / improved capabilities within identified TACNET systems Provide fielding support in accordance with Program Fielding Plans Adhere to established Turn-Around-Time requirements Additional responsibilities may include: Analysis of actual or predictive operational activities or systems to obtain a quantitative and rational basis for decision making or resource allocation Performing research and analysis on a project or system to enhance the technical and economic development of the product and/or system Supporting test events to include test observation and recording, data collection, storage, reduction, analysis, problem identification, and report preparation Support day-to-day operations including equipment upgrades, installations, training and technical support Providing on-site technical analysis and support to TACNET programs Scientific Research Corporation offers a competitive salary, an extensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages excellence. MON CB MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Technical Training in a relevant technical field Fifteen (15) years of hands-on experience with MCSC systems to include three (3) of the following four (4) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation and Training Recognized expert who has demonstrated leadership in relevant technical field Ability to meet deployment requirements for travel to OCONUS and/or hostile locations. Valid US Passport required Demonstrated experience and expertise with CISCO systems networking products, VMWare V-Sphere virtualization system, VSAN capabilities, Fortigate firewall products, and general VoIP functionality DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Extensive experience providing Technical, System Administration, System Operation, System Network and System Maintenance support and/or training on multiple Marine Corps ISR systems to garrison/deployed/deploying Marine Corps units Specific MCSC support experience performing similar work is highly desired Extensive understanding of Marine Corps supply systems with specific attention to Global Combat Supply Support - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) and the Equipment Repair Order (ERO) EDUCATION: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent Must have Security + certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date CCNA, preferred CCSP, highly desirable THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL FOR CONSIDERATION MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO OBTAIN A TS/SCI CLEARANCE ACTIVE TS/SCI PREFERRED Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
